Charitable Affiliations

Philanthropy is central to ECLARO's commitment to corporate social responsibility. In addition to making regular contributions to notable charities, we frequently host fundraising events or provide volunteer support in response to emergency situations. We believe in giving back to our communities and encourage our employees to take an active role in supporting causes and organizations they care about. Here are some of the ways in which ECLARO contributes to those in need:

United States

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is a pediatric treatment and research facility focused on children's catastrophic diseases, particularly leukemia and other cancers. Founded in 1962 by comedian Danny Thomas, St. Jude treats more than 7,800 patients each year. Families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay. ECLARO is pleased to provide financial support to St. Jude through annual donations.

R. Gene and Nancy D. Richter Foundation

The R. Gene Richter Scholarship Program was established in memory of R. Gene Richter, who was a galvanizing force in the field of procurement. Through the Scholarship Program, future leaders in supply chain management are provided tuition assistance, mentoring and networking opportunities. Gene served as a valued advisor to ECLARO leadership following his retirement from IBM. ECLARO has been a sponsor of the Scholarship Program since its inception in 2004.

Catholic Health Services of Long Island

Sponsored by the Diocese of Rockville Centre, Catholic Health Services operations include six hospitals and three nursing homes. In addition, Catholic Health Services provides regional home care and hospice services to residents of Long Island. The system’s hospitals include Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, Mercy Medical Center, St. Francis Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital, St. Catherine of Sienna Hospital and St. Charles Hospital. In addition to providing financial support, ECLARO’s founders serve on the Foundation and Community Advisory boards of St. Charles and St. Catherine’s, respectively.

Swim With Mike Foundation

Swim with Mike provides scholarships to physically challenged athletes to help them overcome their tragedies and realize their full potential. In its 40-year history, Swim with Mike has financially supported more than 250 students attending 132 universities. ECLARO is a proud sponsor of the annual Swim with Mike fundraising event which raises over $1 million each year.

Philippines

Taal Eruption Donation Drive

The Taal Volcano, located in the province of Batangas, erupted on January 12, 2020, sending a massive plume of ash and gas into the air. Heavy ash blanketed towns and villages, destroying crops, killing livestock and devastating the livelihood of hundreds of families. Thousands were forced to evacuate rapidly, many with nothing more than the clothes they were wearing.
Partnering with the Philippine Red Cross, St. Paul University and St. James Academy in Batangas, one of the evacuation centers, ECLARO’s Project E-care Team organized a drive to support impacted families and individuals. In addition to providing much needed financial assistance, ECLARO employees collected and distributed food, necessities and comfort items.
Food for Frontliners

In recognition of the important role that healthcare and police personnel have played during the COVID-19 pandemic, ECLARO partnered with Philippine Red Cross to provide healthy snacks to frontline workers.
Red Cross Blood Drive

Our employees help to ensure a sufficient supply of blood for patients in need through their participation in ECLARO’s annual blood drive. The importance of this event was highlighted in 2020 when COVID-19 impacted the number of those able and willing to donate blood. Through the generosity of our employees, ECLARO’s 2020 blood drive led to the collection of 144 bags – the highest number received by the Philippine Red Cross from a single event.

Game for a Cause: Mobile Legends Tournament

At ECLARO, we look for ways to engage our associates and make the act of service a fun and memorable experience. In Q4 2020, we organized Game for A Cause: Mobile Legend Tournament. The two winning teams demonstrated their gaming chops and technical skills and were given an opportunity to donate a portion of their winnings to a charity of their choice. The teams chose Cherith Baptist Church in Balagtas, Bulacan as their partner organization. The team members provided funds for meals and distributed care packages of rice, noodles and canned goods to local communities to help address food insecurity during the pandemic.
Typhoon Relief

In addition to our ongoing involvement with humanitarian organizations such as the Philippine Red Cross, ECLARO plays an active role when natural disasters impact the nation, providing food, care packages, clothing, blankets and other necessities. ECLARO team members give of their time, often volunteering with relief operations in the provinces.

In November 2020, Typhoon Rolly devastated parts of Luzon Island. Designated the most powerful storm of the year worldwide, Typhoon Rolly caused tremendous damage to homes, facilities, disrupted essential services and interrupted the water supply. In response, ECLARO launched a donation drive to help impacted families. ECLARO, company and employee contributions helped fund a water purifying station in Virac, Catanduanes, providing clean drinking water for a community of nearly 80,000.
Dog Houses for PAWSsion Project

PAWSsion Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of abused and abandoned animals. ECLARO company and employee contributions to PAWSsion Project's 2021 International Dog Day fundraiser helped to provide much needed shelter for rescued dogs.
